In the app, Settings › Contact us opens an email with your app version filled in, which helps us fix things faster.

Sharing with your family

Open Settings › Family sharing and tap Start a family group. Send the invite code to everyone else. On their phones they open Settings › Family sharing › Join with a code, enter their name and request to join. A parent approves the request before they can access the family.

Family Plus

One subscription covers everyone in your family group, so only one person pays. Subscriptions are billed by Apple. To cancel, go to iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions. If you bought Plus and it isn't showing, open the upgrade screen in the app and tap Restore purchases.

Importing a team or school schedule

In apps like TeamReach, find the calendar's Share, Subscribe or Sync option and pick Family Hub. You can also paste a calendar link (it starts with webcal:// or ends in .ics) in Settings › Linked calendars › Shared schedules. Linked schedules check for changes a few times a day.

Parent PIN for kids' phones

A parent can set a 4-digit PIN in Settings › Kid safety. The PIN is checked securely on the server; checking it requires an internet connection. On a kid's phone, the PIN is needed to pause or reduce location sharing, erase location history, leave or switch families, change who the phone belongs to, or change someone's role. If a kid turns off location for Family Hub in iPhone Settings, the family gets an alert the next time the app opens. For stronger limits, use Apple's Screen Time on the kid's phone (Settings › Screen Time › Content & Privacy Restrictions › Location Services › Don't Allow Changes).

Who's where

Set Home, and each person's Work, School or other places in Settings › Who's where. Each person turns on Share where I am on their own phone. Location needs to be set to “Always” in iPhone Settings › Family Hub › Location so the phone can notice arrivals while the app is closed. Only the place name is shared with your family, never your exact location.

Notes

Family notes can be shared with everyone or just the people you choose. Only the person who wrote a note can change who sees it or delete it. Private notes stay on your phone.

Deleting your data

Go to Settings › Delete my data. You can delete everything on your phone, remove just yourself from your family group, or, as a parent, delete the whole family group online.
